An Inclusive academy
Our children come from a wide range of cultural backgrounds. We aim to celebrate the diversity our pupils bring to Lime Academy Parnwell and recognise the importance of both individuality and cultural identity.
We support children with a range of Special Needs. This includes children of high ability as well as those experiencing learning, physical, social or emotional difficulties.
The majority of children with learning needs are helped in the classroom and are supported by individual programmes of work. Some children with particular and identified needs are supported by Teaching Assistants (either individually or in groups), who work closely with the class teacher. Members of staff are able to draw on the advice and experience of colleagues including the Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator, Lead Behaviour Professional and Learning Mentors. Support and advice is also available from a range of outside agencies including a school doctor, nurse and educational psychologist.
