Lime Academy Parnwell uniform

Lime Academy Parnwell ask for all parents’ co-operation in maintaining our high standards of school uniform. We believe that a uniform helps to promote a good working environment and a positive attitude to learning.

Through our uniform and dress code we aim to:

  • Encourage pride in our academy
  • Support teaching and learning
  • Enable pupils to be comfortable, safe and secure
  • Encourage a sense of equality and belonging to the academy community

Where to buy:

The branded jumpers and cardigans are available online via www.totalclothingshop.co.uk/pns (along with other items).

Non branded navy jumpers and other items such as shirts, skirts, trousers, shirts and shoes can be bought from any supplier e.g. Tesco, Sainsburys, ASDA, Morrisons, ALDI, Primark.

School do also have a small amount of old uniform which can be donated to families when needed. Please contact the school office if you feel you need support with this.

Lost Property

Please ensure that each item of your child’s clothing is named. Children are expected to look after their own clothing. Named clothing that is found around the school will be returned to its owner. However, we are very unlikely to be able to reunite un-named items with their owners. The school does not have any legal liability to replace or reimburse for pupils’ clothing or other property when it has been stolen or lost in school.

Lost property will be available at the end of each school day outside of the afterschool club. Lost property is emptied at the end of each term.

OPAL

We have started our OPAL programme to improve our lunchtime play experiences for our children. Outdoor Play and Learning (OPAL) is based on the idea that, as well as learning through good teaching, your children also learn when they play. As 20% of their time in school is playtime, we want to make sure that this amount of time is as good as possible. Play is not messing about. It is the process which enables children to learn things that cannot be taught, while also having fun.

As part of this approach, we will be outside in all weathers and will be using more of the grounds, for more of the year, so your children may get a bit messier, and may need a change of clothes at school.

All children in all year groups are asked to bring a pair of wellies with them (these can be left at school) so that they can access all of the grounds.

If you are concerned about your child getting dirty, you can send in a spare set of named uniform that can also be left at school.

An example of how OPAL works in other schools is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ki-IhMwpyJw&t=7s
